BASIC DESIGN COST BREAKDOWN
£65.00 to £85.00 / m²
Generally these rates are on the higher side but will give you an idea of what you would expect to pay if the correct quality materials and expertise is provided. You may be quoted lower prices but check with the contractor on what you will be getting, preparation, materials and design wise.

Standard rectangular concrete paving blocks of various colours sourced for one of Northern Ireland's reputable paving manufacturers. Usually 200x100x50mm in size.
These pavers generally cost between £22
- £30 (excl VAT)
per square meter excluding wastage.
SHAPE OF AREA
Rectangular, Square including paths / foot ways and garden features.
SIZE OF AREA
This example is based on an area of approximately 30 square meters
(m²). The cost increases when the area becomes less than 20 m² and decreases when the area becomes more than 50m².
PATTERN
Straight forward pattern, laid in stretcher bond, basket weave, herringbone or combination.
EXCAVATION
Excavation in good ground conditions on topography that is generally level that requires the excavation depth to be equivalent to the depth of the required layer works.
BEDDING LAYER
30mm to 40mm bedding layer of sharp sand.
SUB-BASE LAYER
75mm layer of MOT Type 1 Sub-base, compacted.
KERBING
Bull nosed kerbs 150x125x915mm or equivalent standard concrete kerbs. Generally the cost of standard concrete kerbs do not differ that much per running meter.
DRAINAGE
No drainage system is included in this pricing. Drainage via the correct falls to surface area directed away from buildings and public roads onto adjacent areas or into existing channels / catch pits.
LOCATION & ACCESS
Access to the paving area is accessible to within 5m by van and the location for delivery must fall within the standard delivery cost set by the supplier.
DRIVEWAYS, DUAL ACCESS AREAS
This pricing covers areas that will have vehicular traffic using it at any stage and must have a loading of less than 3000kg.
£75.00 to £95.00 / m²
Generally these rates are on the higher side but will give you an idea of what you would expect to pay if the correct quality materials and expertise is provided. You may be quoted lower prices but check with the contractor on what you will be getting, preparation, materials and design wise.
